Welcome to Harrison Center. I am excited that you have decided to continue your education with us. In order to avoid misunderstandings, please read the following. You are also, encouraged to watch the video by clicking on the button.
I expect a respectful learning environment. Please treat others the way you would like to be treated. Respect Mrs. Culton, Substitute Teachers, and your peers.
Grading:
Attendance is extremely important. I expect you in class everyday, ready to work.
13 unexcused absences is an automatic drop from a 60 hour class.
Remember to bring excuses within 3 days of an absence.
Tardy: You are tardy if you are not in my room when the bell rings.
3 tardies = 1 absence and results in an LOR.
LOR or Lack of Responsibility
An LOR is issued when a student fails to meet teacher expectation, meet student progress goals, or follow rules and policies.
1st LOR: Warning
2nd LOR: Behavior Contract
3rd LOR and beyond: Suspensions: counted as UNEXCUSED ABSENCES
Smoking:
Smoking is prohibited in the building or on school property.
Computers and personal cell phones:
Computers and personal cell phones are to be used for official and approved purposes only! Prohibited activities include: music and music video, youtube and other video, email, instant messaging, face-time, searches of a personal nature.
Use appropriate language in the classroom/building.
You are expected to work quietly each and everyday. If you are asked to leave the classroom, you will be marked absent.
Progress Goals:
Your progress will be monitored throughout the class. You are expected to have completed your coursework within these timeframes:
60 hours – ½ credit class
Do not write on things that do not belong to you. This includes tables, books, computers, and anything else in my room.
Textbooks are the property of the Harrison Center and should not leave the classroom.
Plagiarism and/or cheating are strictly prohibited and will result in an “E” Contract.
The work you submit for course completion must be your own.
Plagiarism includes copying another student’s work, or copying from the internet or print sources.
Cheating includes plagiarism, as well as looking up answers when completing tests and/or quizzes.

No Hats, Bandanas, other headwear
No Skirts and Shorts above the finger tips
No Tanks with straps less than 3 in or large cuts

- HSC: Please see assignment sheet in your folder. A Learning Log is required.
- Edgenuity: Your grade will consist of the computer grade PLUS any assigned work.
- I have a limited number of computers. If you wish to use E2020, please talk to me. A Daily Progress Log is required.
- First Attempt: Will be given automatically and not checked.
- Second Attempt:
- Will be given automatically and checked ONLY if you have a 60%.
- Less than 60% will require notes/homework/resetting
- Third and fourth attempts:
- See second attempt rules
- You receive the highest grade of your four attempts.
- GED: GED prep will be based on individual needs.
- All assignments MUST be completed during your regularly scheduled class period. Only Edgenuity may be completed at home.
